crucial wedding update.

I got a ring guard
so that my ring doesn't fall off
while I wildly gesture.

[I've been told a few times I talk with my hands.]

that's about it.

Oh, and I told Greg he looks like a dementor in that second to last picture,
and he said,
"You're not allowed to watch Harry Potter anymore."

Happy weekend.

...i had the best christmas.

and yes, I did take this web cam picture in the library...
and yes, my computer made that awkward clicking sound
and people probably think I sit around in the library all day taking pictures of myself,

but I'm so excited!

Happy Last day of Classes!

1.red pants-gold shirt-black sweater-black cut out wedges
[celebration outfit for last day of classes]

[that's like a weird frog face, but suffice it to say, I'm excited]

3. Only a week until
one of my best friends gets married
I see my sister and brother
and I get a month of break!

4. Happy little snowman by my bed.
I like his glitter.

I'm just listening to James Taylor,
writing a little bit,
and enjoying this happy day.

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom,
and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.

I have a serious question.

Where the heck to all my bobby pins go?
Are they in some magical land for hair elastics, bobby pins,
all the quarters I had for laundry this semester?

I have a feeling they've all run away.

Major conspiracy.

Happy last week of classes!

sitting around

doing some busy work...

smiling because

- Greg called me for no reason this afternoon
[and asked if he could call again tonight]

-my roommate brought some really good sourdough bread home today

-I cleaned the massive cave that is underneath my bed
[and didn't die of an allergic reaction to the dust]

-I love my roommates

-my awesome sister just placed fourth in a collegiate synchronized
skating competition in Michigan! Yay Grace!

-I love the tv show Bones.
and Bones being pregnant.
and Bones and Booth shooting fake guns at each other.
and all around cuteness.
[the tv has been on in the background of my busy work, obviously]

-And He who sits on the throne said,
"Behold, I am making all things new."
And He said, "Write, for these words are faithful and true."

There has been a ton of loss here at PBU lately.
An excellent man of God,
who served Jesus faithfully and wisely,
passed away yesterday afternoon.

He was a man, visibly humble,
world class in his art form,
who used piano to praise his creator and redeemer.

Last night, gathered on the walkway to celebrate Christmas,
our President addressed us.
He spoke about the sadness and pain of losing Dr. Hsu and others,
and read Luke 2.
Among brothers and sisters, huddled on the walkway,
we listened to our President read of incarnation,
of God becoming man,
to love and save this fallen world.

Without dismissing the sadness of this season for the university,
we worshipped our Lord,
pain in the offering,

The Christmas story is more than narrative,
it's more than happy traditions,
and snow.

The fact of God becoming man for us,
coming to save us out of the throne room of heaven,
and loving us enough to die
brings real hope and comfort to those grieving.

Sadness remains, but Christ is real.
