If you are out to describe the truth, leave elegance to the tailor.

wow.

i need to get my blogger butt back in shape.
it's just so beautiful outside!

i'm ashamed to admit I made gorgeous cupcakes
[chocolate coffee cupcakes with Bailey's icing]
&
[sour cream raspberry cupcakes with cream cheese icing]
and I took no pictures.

what I have gotten pictures of recently can be found above.

They are:

Greg = A monkey. An obvious resemblance proved here.

A card I got from the three wishes family, with two awesome friendship bracelets included.
[Thanks to the beautiful LeighAnn aka LeeLee]

My new beach towel + an attractive outside pillow. Important for lounging.
[aka- important for life]

And... a warm lemon white bean salad with carrots and onion. Yum.

Hope your summer days have been as delicious and fun filled as mine!

lately i'm loving

flowers at markets and farms
other people's beautiful gardens
[especially now that I know how much work must go into them]
light/dark contrast
the color of those shutters
[pretty sea foam green]
flowers behind my ear,

and Greg.
[so cute]

today there will be:
room cleaning,
clothes organizing,
sense and sensibility reading
[just finished pillars of the earth- so good],
guitar playing,
and work at the gym.

And whatever you do, whether in word or deed,
do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
Colossians 3:17

here's hoping for a productive and God honoring day!

i am not

as good at posting in the summer...
obviously.

My life has mostly consisted of work at the gymnastics center,
running into my little gymnasts around town
[so sweet],
long walks and frozen yogurt,
and lots of reading.

Yesterday, my lovely friend Victoria
[who I happen to live with]
had prom,
and there was a cake lying around,
so I decorated it.

[vanilla- lime icing with fresh strawberries]

There was delicious brie, manchego, and cheddar out...
so I ate some of that.

I am fully aware of how ridiculous this picture is...
but I love this kitchen.
[and how much I can cook in it!]

Today,
Greg and I went out for coffee,

[this is a look that says, excuse me, but important matters are being discussed]

[this is a coffee cup that says, excuse me, but i'm delicious...drink me]

looked at some cars for fun,
and have been studying/working/reading/blogging ever since.

So nice for a rainy day.

Hope your Saturday is wonderful!

i am totally convinced...

that driving with the windows down
music loud
in the sunshine
is one of life's greatest pleasures,

that my flowers,
which i chose, planted and water
[also, sing to]
daily, are the most beautiful in the world,

that my reading list this summer will be perhaps the lengthiest
it's ever been.
So far-
This Side of Paradise by F. Scott Fitzgerald
Silas Marner by George Eliot
and
An Object of Beauty by Steve Martin
and now-
The Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follet
[i'm hooked].

that red mango is the best idea
anyone in the food service industry ever had.
I went this morning.
I'm going again tomorrow night.
I am calling it rango.
[because when you love something this much, it needs a nickname.]

that all of this is a gift.

for what do you have that you did not recieve?
1 Corinthians 4:7

have a beautiful day!

I've been...

sliding into my rainbows

throwing my hair up on top of my head

and gardening up a storm.

[That's one of my very own planters. We'll see if it thrives or shrivels this summer.]

[I'd like a nap on these petals...weird?]

I've been hanging out with this lovely lady when I get the chance.

we decided that despite my tired eyes, we had to take a picture...
we both had normal clothes on!
it never happens!

love Victoria.

and today I've been...

passing a Human Growth and Development exam,
finishing This Side of Paradise by F. Scott Fitzgerald,
making Curried Chicken with Cucumbers and Yogurt Sauce,
doing a test run of Victoria's hair and make up...
for prom,
and glad of this:

Two things I have heard:
That you , Oh God, are strong,
and that you, Oh Lord,
are loving.

Psalm 62:11

i hope today's restful and fun, wherever you are.

it's a little late...

but my friend Marjorie just sent me pictures from formal.

So fun.

masks are fun, but they make your profile seriously weird.

we always have candids like this.
apparently it's what we look like 95 % of the time.
we interact mostly in hand gestures.

definitely didn't know we were that close to the water.

there's something on the lens, but he's cute anyways.

today:
breakfast with the boyfriend
[slept through my alarm- he had to actually come into the house and wake me...embarassing.]
"studying" outside
[aka cookbooks and magazines]
watering my new plants
[so pretty]
work at the gym
and a date with a pretty girl I've been friends with since
the summer before 2nd grade.
Crazy.

I hope today is sunshiney and gorgeous wherever you are as well!
